Ok, the weather outside is wonderful, and I am trapped on a train taking forever to get home. Apparently, whenever the weather is very hot, the train doesn’t function well. Go figure. It doesn’t function well when it is cold either. That must mean the trains and the tracks are designed to be used in Holland or any other country with moderate temperatures. It’s surprising, as you would think this would be something easily solved. Oh well. It is still faster than driving…

Wow, I am tired. Little did I know when I bought my Visa Screening Room pass for the 6PM series, that I would be so desperate for sleep by the end… and would be existing on almost nothing to eat. Photo by Steve RhodesThe debate is raging over Universal Health Care in the United States. The Canadian Health System (and I use this generally, as each province implements Health slightly differently) has been used as both an example of how a single payer system works, and in many cases, an example of why the USA should not adopt it. I have seen the opponents of UHC state things such as “If health care is so good in Canada, why are Canadians flocking to the United States for Care”, “My father’s Cousin’s best friends uncle would have died if he waited on the Canadian system for care”, “Waiting times are excruciating in Canada”, “How can we trust the government to provide health care”… and many statements claiming that Canadians “do not like Universal Health Care, why would we adopt it”.

Photo by manu contrerasWow, I have been trying to get this site up for about 1 month now. I have managed to add a few items to my sidebar, such as status messages from Facebook, but I haven’t managed much more than that. Regardless, hopefully I’ll get some actual ramblings online soon, I mean, it’s not like there has been a lack of topics to write about. Expect to see soon my feedback on this years Toronto International Film Festival, and some rants on politics in Canada, as well as the USA.
